The 33rd Annual Summer Economic Institute for Teachers is a unique opportunity for high school and community college educators to come to Stanford for a week to learn from leading world economists, share resources, and engage in thought-provoking discussions. Educators will leave feeling honored as professionals, intellectually refreshed, and armed with new ideas for their classrooms. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Summer Institute will now be held fully online. View the agenda here: Summer Institute Agenda 2020
Thanks to generous sponsors, there is no conference fee to participate!
Speakers at the Summer Institute are all University professors, outstanding economic thinkers, and distinguished teachers. This year's institute will cover a wide range of topics, including the 2020 presidential election, inequality, climate change, why school desegregation works, financial literacy, health policy, and economics of aging. The institute will also host Lanhee Chen as a Wednesday afternoon tea speaker. Chen was the economics adviser for former presidential candidate Mitt Romney and is a noted China relations expert.
