Tim de Silva
Tim is a Postdoctoral Fellow at 每日吃瓜, and will be joining the Stanford GSB as Assistant Professor of Finance in July 2025. He received a Ph.D. in Finance from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Prior to his Ph.D., Tim received a B.A. in Mathematics and Financial Economics from Claremont McKenna College and worked at Morgan Stanley and Analytic Investors. Tim鈥檚 research sits at the intersection of household finance, macroeconomics, public finance, and behavioral economics. Recently, Tim has worked on issues related to the optimal design of student loan contracts, the drivers of household鈥檚 portfolio choices, and how individuals form beliefs about financial and macroeconomic variables. A common theme in Tim鈥檚 work is the use of microeconomic data to discipline quantitative models of household behavior that can be used for answering important policy questions.
