Mauricio Larrain is Associate Professor of Economics at the University of los Andes Chile. Prior to this he served as Associate Professor of Finance at Columbia University, Graduate School of Business. Professor Larrain has also served as Board Member and Deputy Governor of the Financial Market Commission of Chile, regulating banks securities, and insurance companies. His expertise lies in the fields of corporate finance, banking, and corporate governance. His research has been published in the top finance journals, including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Review of Financial Studies. Larrain earned his B.A. and M.A in Economics from the Catholic University of Chile and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
